Why Walk?

Walk for Life is always an amazing fun-filled community event. A chance to join together, be loud and proud about supporting people living with HIV and have a LOT of fun. Princess sophia and princess tabi

It’s also a fantastic excuse to get all dressed up, especially with our Kings and Queens theme-it’s reason enough to turn a few frogs into handsome princes! The walk itself gives you chance to take in some of London’s most iconic and regal sites, and the post walk entertainment is set to be a party fit for a King this year.

But it’s so much more than that, most importantly Walk For Life raises money for a vital service which offers a lifeline to people living with HIV in poverty. The Hardship Fund offers invaluable support to some of the most vulnerable people with HIV, allowing them to afford basic necessities like warm clothing, healthy food and the fare to get to the hospital – helping them to keep their dignity and stay healthy despite severe financial difficulties.

The more money you raise, the more people we can through the Hardship Fund. It’s as simple as that. So please give your voice and feet for one day this summer, and join us for Walk for Life.

History

Walk For Life was founded in 1989 by HIV and AIDS charity Crusaid. Since then, the Walk has raised millions of pounds to support essential services for people living with HIV.

king tom When Terrence Higgins Trust merged with Crusaid in June 2010 we committed to protect the legacy of it’s Hardship Fund and continue to support people living with HIV in poverty. Walk For Life, now in it’s 23^rdyear, continues to be a highlight of Terrence Higgins Trust’s fundraising calendar and raises money exclusively for the Hardship Fund.

The Walk has always been an incredibly important event for the HIV community, a chance not only to raise vital sponsorship but also to raise awareness and act as a public platform, giving people a voice to grow and shape the nation’s response to the virus and remember loved ones. We're incredibly proud to organise such a historic event
