Last year’s journey down the yellow brick road with our Wizard of Oz fancy dress theme was so much fun that we just couldn’t resist getting our thinking crowns on to pick another for 2012. With a little help from a walker vote, we came up with the very majestic Kings and Queens. So we’ll be having a right royal knees up this year!

You can dress up as much or as little as you want, and if royalty isn’t your thing-be creative! We’re extra excited about this theme because as well as the expected crowns and gowns there is so much space for a bit of fun- think Queen of Hearts, Kings and Queens of pop, Freddie Mercury in THAT drag outfit, Cleopatra, Priscilla or all things King sized! Plain clothes royals are of course welcome too.

Collect your virtual Royal Regalia

Our Kings and Queens theme is more than just dressing up, from the moment you set up your online sponsorship page you’ll embark on a noble quest to collect royal accessories. As your sponsorship hits each majestic target you will be rewarded with a growing collection of virtual rosettes on your fundraising page, from the Court Jester’s hat to the ultimate Crown Jewels. Share these with your sponsors to encourage them to help you rise to the next level. And if they don’t… then off with their heads!

What will be in your treasure chest?

Jester’s Hat (£50) – You can secure your hat with just a bit of clowning around
Queen’s Corgi (£100) – There’ll be no dog house for you if you get the Corgi
Royal Sceptre (£250) – Will you be beating off the suitors with your Royal Sceptre? (don’t forget, if you reach this level you’ll get a FREE Walk for Life t-shirt!)
Crown Jewels (£500) – But will you seal the deal with the ultimate prize?
